Mare Island
I went to Mare Island last week and did some urban exploring with Jesse to escape the 106° Sacramento heat. We also ended up going around the north peninsula and looked around at some of the old batteries that are long-since shut down and locked up tight.
On Mare Island we were able to actually get inside an old lab and what we believe to have been an explosives testing & development facility, including an old lab. There were some pressurized testing rooms inside a warehouse as well as some old equipment in the building and it was fascinating to have a look around.
